We’re excited to welcome Robert Calvert to 10X ERP as our new Chief Technology Officer. Robert brings more than 20 years of experience leading technology transformation across complex enterprise environments, with a background spanning cloud-native architecture, hybrid cloud, API strategy, and AI-enabled automation. Robert joins at an important stage of growth as we continue to scale our modern platform and expand what is possible for distributors.

Why 10X?

I spent years working on large-scale technology transformations at companies where the technology often moved faster than the business value it delivered. What drew me to 10X ERP is the opposite problem: a product that is clearly delivering value to its customers, with a team that understands its customers’ business priorities and distribution workflows and now needs to scale the engineering and architecture to match the ambition. That is a problem I know how to solve. In telecom, I watched carriers pour billions into infrastructure modernization only to see the business model erode faster than the technology could catch up. At 10X, the product is already winning customers because it solves real problems for distributors, from inventory visibility to AI-powered insights on live data, on a modern, API-first platform that was built right from the start. The job here is to scale the engine, not rebuild it, and to continue moving the AI capabilities from insight into action.

Which of our company values resonates with you the most and why?

Clarity. In my experience, most technical failures are communication failures in disguise. The hardest part of scaling an engineering organization is not usually the technology itself. It is making sure everyone, from developers to customers to sales, understands what is being built, why it matters, and how it will be delivered. I have seen what happens when that breaks down, and I have seen what happens when a team keeps things clear and aligned. 10X’s focus on cutting through complexity and delivering usable, understandable solutions is exactly the kind of operating principle I believe in.

What do you find most rewarding in your current role?

The most rewarding part is when an engineering decision directly removes friction for a customer. In larger organizations, you can be several layers removed from the end user. At 10X, the connection between what we build and the impact it has on a customer’s day-to-day business is much more immediate. That shorter feedback loop is what makes the work meaningful.

If you could pick up a new skill in an instant, what would it be?

I would spend a week running a distribution warehouse. I have spent years building technology that supports complex operations, but there is no substitute for doing the work yourself. I would want to pull orders, manage inventory, deal with shipping exceptions, and see firsthand where the friction really is.

What’s your go-to snack or beverage to power through a busy day?

Black coffee. No negotiation on that one.
